ABOUT

JENNIFER GORDY, MSW, LCSW

Jennifer has walked beside women on their journeys of healing, wellness, and wholeness for the last 15+ years. At the beginning of her career as a licensed clinical social worker, Jennifer worked as a therapist and clinical director in the area of community mental health in Winston-Salem, NC. She provided individual, family, and couples therapy to women (and their families) navigating through anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship/marriage issues.
Jennifer then transitioned her focus to international work as she joined staff with Global Aid Network, the humanitarian partner of Cru, to help pioneer the organization’s global crisis care ministry. This ministry focused on providing emotional/spiritual support and training to cross-cultural workers and churches serving in areas impacted by war, natural disasters, and other crises. While living and working in Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia, Jennifer provided counseling and support to women dealing with trauma, depression, anxiety, burn-out, relationship stress, and spiritual issues.
In 2018, Jennifer opened JSG Counseling, specializing in working with women from different backgrounds and in various seasons of life. Jennifer’s specialty areas include:
-
Anxiety
-
Depression
-
Trauma
-
Grief/Loss
-

-

-
Life Transitions
Jennifer uses a compassionate and holistic approach to counseling that seeks to partner with women to promote physical, emotional, social, and spiritual wellness. For those interested in working through issues using the context of their personal Christian faith, Jennifer is able to provide Christian counseling that integrates biblical foundations and practices along with effective psychotherapy techniques. Women of other faith traditions or who do not prefer to include faith/spirituality in their counseling are also welcomed. The client’s personal preference regarding faith integration will always be respected.
When Jennifer is not at JSG Counseling, she enjoys watching movies, traveling and exploring new places, enjoying good food and conversation with friends, and spending quality time with her husband and daughter.
