CROSS-CULTURAL SERVICES
For the last 10 years, Jennifer has provided emotional and spiritual care to women serving in cross-cultural missions, humanitarian/NGO work, and compassion ministries around the world. During this time, Jennifer realized that many women serving on the front lines may be surviving, but they are not always thriving. Many struggle with:
-
Personal and/or team issues
-
Transition stress
-
Loss and grief
-
Singleness or marital issues
-
Brokenness from trauma
As a result, these struggles can cause intense stress, emotional and spiritual struggles, and rob women serving cross-culturally of a life filled with true joy and abundance!
In order to help strengthen and support women serving in global contexts, Jennifer offers the following services:
Debriefing
A personal debriefing is a time set apart for women (and if married, their spouses if desired) to slow down and create intentional space for personal reflection, meditation, prayer, and rest in God’s presence.
Debriefing weeks:
-
Are guided by Le Rucher Ministries’ Exchange at the Cross debriefing model, a personal debriefing usually takes place over the course of 4-5 days (shorter debriefing times can be arranged depending on need and situation).
-
Daily schedules are flexible and allow for 3 hours/per day for debriefing and educational sessions, and the rest of the day for rest, time with God, journaling, and talking walks/exploring the area.
-
The debriefing time provides ample space for women to share their stories, unpack their journeys on the field, and reflect on how they were personally impacted.
-
Personal debriefings can be scheduled at any time, but are especially helpful after major times of changes/transition, in between assignments, during times of furlough, or at end of service re-entry to home culture.
Cross-cultural Counseling & Therapy
Women in cross-cultural service may have received beneficial pre-field training, have solid support from their families, organizations, and churches, and be fully equipped to serve. However, there may be times when they realize that they need additional help navigating through difficult transitions or seasons. Cross-cultural therapy or counseling may be helpful if you experience:
-
Unresolved Grief
-
Intense Self-Doubt
-
Ongoing Anxiety & Depression that Impacts Your Functioning
-
Core Beliefs that Negatively Influence Your Decisions & Interpersonal Relationships
-
Increased Relational Difficulties & Conflicts
-
Painful Emotional & Relational Wounds
Jennifer is available to offer in person services to those living in the Chapel Hill/Durham area, or via online sessions to women who are currently serving overseas.
